미국의 Ben Kanute는 2:08:10으로 험난한 Chattanooga 바이크 코스에서 펀치를 날렸지만 가장 빠른 기록은 2:07:45로 마친 독일 Sebastian Kienle에게 갔다. 그러나 2:12 :27초에 바이크를 마친 스페인의 자비에르 고메즈에게 런에서 뒤쳐져 5위로 경기를 마쳤다.
항상 그래왔듯이 세바스찬 키엘은 수영에서 뒤쳐진 기록을 뛰어난 바이크 실력으로 엎어 놓는다.
많은 사람들이 호주 출신의 Tim Reed 를 지켜봤지만 고전했다.
캐나다의Taylor Reid는 리듬을 찾기가 어려워 보였지만 자전거에서 좋은 컨디션을 보였다.
